What the limits of digital painting on the web are?
Certainly, due to the immaterial substance of this medium, we have to put aside all what is communicated by material substance. Rendering and textures have been highly developed, yet they refer only to the appearance of physical phenomena, don’t communicate it; the same difference, let us say, that exists between laying on a beautiful sunny beach for sun bathing and observing the pictureof the same beach on a screen or as printed matter.
So digital painting can only be literaire, or a description of something else from what exists here and now, nevertheless to the digital artist the chance is left to do it poetically….
