Marcel Duchamp. New findings in Boîte-en-valise
General view of the installation
L.H.O.O.Q. a well known rectified Readymade by Marcel Duchamp was the starting point for this installation by Fabrizio Ruggiero.
Marcel Duchamp created L.H.O.O.Q. by taking a cheap print of the Mona Lisa and adding a moustache, goatee and a visual pun.
According to Duchamp, the act of choosing — an act of the mind — adds aesthetic value to the artwork.
Using appropriation, Fabrizio Ruggiero paints a fresco portrait of Marcel Duchamp and projects it into the contemporary world.
