By making a koan, a Zen paradox, Fabrizio Ruggiero offers the possibility of seeing the secret sound of painting in Pandora’s Box of contemporary art through the portraits of ten modern artists.

The installation is site-specific for both the spatial and symbolic dimension of the small deconsecrated church of San Lorenzo, historically used as a venue for contemporary exhibitions.

Ruggiero conceived a secular “show on the walls” composed of ten fresco portraits of modern masters, positioning A Bruit Secret & Pandora’s Box within the former altar niche — a curatorial gesture intended to interrupt habitual perception and momentarily displace mechanical thought.
